Smile
So this definitely wasn't expected,
especially not at this time.
But then,
I'm not exactly complaining.
And yeah,
it's kinda heartless that I'm happy,
but who wouldn't be happy in my situation?

Story of Our Lives
When you're sad, I'm here
When he's a prick, I'm here
When you can't sleep, I'm here
When you need someone to talk to at 4 in the morning and you know no one else is going to pick up their phone, I'm here
And it's not like this is something new
I've always been there because you wanted me there
Wherever you were, I'd be there
Whenever you wanted me, I'd be there
Whenever you needed help, I'd be there
Whenever you just needed to let go, I'd be there to catch you and get you back up again
But when I need you, you're gone
When I need someone to hold me, you're gone
When I need someone to talk to, you're gone
When I need to let go, you're gone
And I'm sick and tired of this
I did everything for you
Because that's what best friends do
Instead I'm getting used by you
But I keep coming back for you
Because I'm always going to be there for you
But when I need you...
... You're gone.

An Epiphany Of Sorts
I was listening to A Day Late by Anberlin and started to really listen to the lyrics. All I could say was "Story of my Life!"
So this one's for you, because this song might as well have been written about you.

Optimism
but that doesn't change a thing
It's more that I'm too stubborn to accept it
and less that I know the truth of the matter
And it's not like I'm lying to myself about this
That's a daily occurrence in this state of mind
It's just that somehow this will work
(but I have no clue how)
You could say I'm crazy
I'd probably say I'm crazy too
and we'd both be right
except for what I'm crazy about
You.
We probably won't agree on that now
but eventually we will

Everything
I never could accept moving. I still can't accept it. I turn around or look at a place in the house and expect what would normally be there to be there, but it's not. Tonight I blog from the floor of my room. All the furniture is gone to the new house. I'm on a sleeping bag as I type this. As of now, I have only my memories of what this house once was. But those memories are damn near legendary. You could say I grew up in this house, having been here since I was 10. I walked into this place a 4-foot midget in the 5th Grade. I remember running all over the house the first day, thinking "Wow this is our new house! It's huge!" Now I'm walking out of here a 6-foot 18 year old. So much changed. Life and its responsibilities are finally in my hands as I leave here. I learned, made friends, laughed, got in trouble, hid from my parents, sneaked out, slept, but most of all, lived here. And I'm never gonna forget that. It's not so much the building itself that I don't want to leave, but it's the fact that I'm comfortable here. Everything I know happened while I lived here. At the end of the day, this was home for me.
And having your best friends living in the same neighbourhood is just amazing. I know now that if it wasn't for these awesome people that I would probably have wanted to move a long time ago. From riding bicycles and playing ManHunt as kids, going to Sean's with a hot pot of rice, playing basketball 'til midnight and pissing off all the neighbours, skateboarding until someone called the cops, laughing 'til it hurt, to making the Skolla Scooter and then breaking it, planning out some of the most epic presents ever, to just playing video games because we had nothing better to do. I could go on for I have no idea how long about all the stuff we've done over these eight years.
So to my friends brothers Shane, Neil, Sean, Mike, Karl, and Josh here at 686 Warden Avenue, thank you for being the most awesome people I know. And yes, Neil, I'm going to get my G2.
Live from the 686 for the last time,

Reminiscing...
Sometimes I wish I was a kid again. And not a little kid. I mean a Grade Nine kid. Why Grade Nine? It's old enough to know a few things about how life works but young enough to not have all the worries and problems of 18. One can dream, no? Maybe one day it'll all fall into place
Closer
Started packing up the house intensely. I say "intensely" because it's really starting to hit that I'm actually moving. There's no more pictures on the wall.
Pictures.
I never even cared for the stuff we had on the walls in my house. Never even thought about it. It's funny how the smallest of things get you the most. Something so little pretty much sums up that this isn't going to be my home for much longer. And it sucks.

Epic Case of The Munchies
3 AM plus an empty stomache resulted in a journey of mediocre Harold-and-Kumar proportions last night. Decided to hit up Wendy's with Shane because we were both hungry. Only one problem. We walked. All the freakin' way. And when we got there, we got nothing. Why? Because it was closed. All that for nothing. So, we decided to hit up McDonald's. We got lucky; it was a 24-hour McDonald's. Food has never tasted so good at McDonald's, but then, we were the only ones there, so we knew the food was fresh. Freakin' best McDonald's ever. Also, Shane you owe me $5 LOL

Gettin' On That Old School Tip
As an insomniac, I spend a lot of time on my computer. Most of that time is just music or movies. Last night, though, I ran into an old stash of music that I haven't listened to in years. And I'm not exaggerating. I even found the first song I ever stole downloaded. That was way back in Grade 5, about 7 years ago. It got me thinking about just how much of my memory is tied to music. As I listened to these songs, I began to remember so much that happened in the past. Happier, simpler times, with far less responsibility and reality in my head. And a hell of a lot less drama.

It's Gonna Be The Most Messed Summer Ever
This summer is going to straight up suck for me. Moving out of the only place that I have any recollection of growing up in is pretty damn hard. Having the best neighbours friends ever living just a door or so down from you is also definitely going to be missed. People say change is progress, and it's something I've come to believe as generally true. But for once, I really don't know if that's the case here. I'm being uprooted from everything I know and have become comfortable with, and I don't like it.
Think of a little child on the first day of kindergarten. Now think of that kid that's crying because he wishes he was home. Yeah, that's me right now (Except men don't cry).
Hopefully one day I'll look back at this and think "Hey, this was actually something good."
In any case, I can't stop this now. Might as well try to make the best of it, no?
I'm pretty sure that won't happen.

As of June 23, 2009, I finished high school. It's been four amazing years. So much done and learned and so many people to thank for making these four years absolutely epic. So here it is, the most epic shout out list ever.
Daniel "Powerman" Power
I practically grew up with you, bro. Remember Grade 5? We hated each others guts LOL and now what? We're like brothers. Thanks for everything bro.
HJ "Hebs" Javier
Four years. I can't believe it's only been four years. Rewind to Grade 9: the first time I met you I thought you were another Asian trying to be a gangster LOL Still, you made these four years dramatically hilarious. "Where's the bluckbarry?" LOL Thanks for being a friend bro.
Tristan "Stan" Kim
I hope I don't piss you off one day because I know you could probably kill me in one of many ways (3rd-degree Black Belt helps) LOL Bro it's been insanely fun. Thanks for being an awesome friend.
Mark "PM(S)" Sneath
You were like a mentor to me PM. The last few weeks you were here changed me. And who can forget "Spicy Jack!" LOL Thanks for speaking the truth and not being afraid of what we'd think. It definitely changed me.
Amar Bains
My brown brotha! You made the inner FOB in me come out of the closet LOL Thanks for all the good times.

Sofia Zuniga
No, I am not trading phones with you! LOL jokes. Thanks for being a friend.

Chris Kim
The first person to ever try and teach me how to dance. And remember Grade 9? Skipping First Period to write essays for Second Period tests LOL good times. Thanks.
Angelo Lezada
You inspired me to start a blog and just write whatever was on my mind. Thanks bro for showing me a new way to express myself. I wouldn't be writing this if it wasn't for you.
Mena Abdel
You showed me that anyone can do anything. Camp Surrender bro. 'Nuff said. Thanks.
John Gnanakumar
I haven't gone to school with you since Elementary, but you still keep in touch. Every summer bro. Thanks for always being there for me, through good and bad.
Andreya Woo
I probably would have never studied if you weren't there to stress over exams and tests with me. Basically, you got me through high school. And you're awesome. Thanks.
Josh De Sa
You got me into writing way back in Grade 10, back in the day when we used to record tracks in your basement. Thanks for challenging me to write song in 30 minutes. And thanks for being a brother to me. 686!
Neil Amagna
You challenged me as I grew up. Taught me to do my homework before I started talking. Proof? The "MOVAC" LOL Thanks for being a brother to me. 686!
Mike Ledesma
You're a brother to me. What more can I say. It's how we roll in the 686. Thanks, bro. 686!
Sean Ledesma
You've changed me by introducing me to a whole new set of people. I will never be the same thanks to that. Times are hard, but we'll make it bro. Thanks for always being there and being a brother to me. 686!
Shane De Silva
Blood wouldn't make us any closer. You've been there for me through everything I went through, both good and bad. Thanks for putting up with me and for being a friend and a brother. 686!

(One)
I've got my last ever high school exam tomorrow. Pretty amped to get it done with. After that there's just a Graduation Ceremony (that I almost wasn't going to show up to) and then I'm done. But in the meantime, instead of studying, Shane and I found some more time at 5AM to get outside with a camera. We went while the streetlights were still on so it gave the street a studio type of feel. The kind of studio that has tons of lights. Results are up on flickr and I still gotta finish some editing. But, exams first.

Two Weeks, And a Fit of Insomnia Worth Blogging About
Back on Monday, Shane was at my house. And we were up until about 5 AM, at which time we went outside. In a completely spontaneous fit of randomness, I just said one thing: "Dude, get your camera." That morning looked beautiful. And if I'm a pansy for describing it like that, I really could care less. To make a long story short, by 6 AM we had taken just over 100 pictures. Most of them are still on my hard drive, but I uploaded some to my newly created flickr account. Check the epic photography here. I'm uploading more as I get time to do so. Also, we're planning another set for this Saturday. If anyone in my imaginary non-existent audience is down for it, you know how to contact me.

So This Is What One Year of Headphones Looks Like
For those that may not know, Last.fm is a website that tracks what you listen to from your MP3/iPod, phone, and computer. It's something I've come to love to use. Based on what you listen to, it suggests other artists. It's kind of like imeem, but better in some ways. Recently, I discovered a related service called lastgraph. Basically, it graphs your Last.fm stats. So I tried it, and this is what it gave me. Click it for a bigger picture.![]()
What I found pretty funny was that the graph spikes like a boss around exam time. Which definitely explains why I haven't done well on most of my recent exams. For more, check my Last.fm page, which also gives you the added benefit of being able to stalk me. Well, at least what I'm listening to.

... For being a drama queen
... For years of lost time

If your answer is no then you, sir or madam, have come to the right place. Waste cattie's are people that are a waste of your time. They tend to have a recurring tendency of extreme annoyance. Today, they also hire their significant others to help them in their bids of annoyance. The result is a very annoying and ugly person that you will hate until they decide to leave you alone. Expect some genius to think that they're the most amazing person on Earth.
As for you, and you'll know who you are one day, you're the biggest mistake to ever enter our lives. All you've done is ruin it for the rest of us. Don't expect us to join in your silly games of stupidity or even associate ourselves with you. We're done with your bullshit.

Weather Forecast For Saturday April 25, 2009
Higher than average temperatures in the early morning hours, leading to a beautiful afternoon. A little taste of summer, but it will leave you wanting more. At around 4:30 in the PM clouds will begin to roll in and by 5:00 in the PM, expect heavy winds and rain. So much for the [planned] awesome weekend of epically unending proportions. Rain will taper off and then return later on in the evening.

10,001 Tales and Misadventures
Right now, I'm listening to the 10,000th track that I've played since May 24th, 2008. Why that day? Because that's the day I started using Last.fm. It's a site that tracks what you listen to and recommends music that is similar to what you already listen to. The fact that I've listened to 10,000 tracks made me think a lot about all the crazy things I've done over this period of 11 months. Songs tend to bring up different memories for me, and there are so many represented by these 10,000 songs. It's almost mind-blowing to me that I've listened to so much music in just 11 months. Like I've got headphones implanted in my ears. Music has become my escape when I think about it. Some people get violent, others write, or do something else. Music is to me what writing is to a poet. It's an expression of emotion. And while I can't play any instrument beyond the guitar (and I just started learning that), listening to music has become that sort of "important" to me. Maybe I'm crazy. But I like it like this.

A Combination Guaranteed Not to Work
Got a lot of absolutely nothing to do today. Basically loafted at home. Rain tends to do that. On the upside, though, the rest of the week keeps getting better after today. Yes, I copied that from my Twitter. Two things really got my attention today. For one, Lil' Wayne is a musical genius. Now, before you go thinking "Nah yo he's messed!" listen to Tha Carter III. Seriously. I hated Lil' Wayne before. That CD made me a fan. In other musical news, Meg & Dia's new CD got released today. I still haven't got it. It'll happen. Soon.
But onto more important things: Ubuntu 9.04 gets released the day after tomorrow. What is Ubuntu, you ask? It's an Operating System, similar to Windows or Mac. It's also a distribution of Linux that I use heavily. What I like about it is speed. I can turn on my computer and be up and running much faster than I ever would be with a Windows installation. And it can still do fancy things like 3D and Window effects. The real deal-maker with Ubuntu is that it gets even easier to use with every release. At this point, very little technical knowledge is required to get an Ubuntu installation running on your own computer. Using it is just as simple. If you wanna try it out, you can download a version that runs on your computer without actually installing.
Check it out here.

Hype and Situation
Heard someone call this week Green Week. Oh, it's definitely "Green" week today. But drug-related innuendos aside, the new Meg & Dia CD ships out tomorrow. Here, Here, and Here is the long anticipated sequel to their first big CD Something Real. And can I wait? No! If that makes me a pansy, then fine, I'm a pansy. But you can't deny that they make awesome music. So the first thing I'm going to do tomorrow is go down to the nearest "place where they sell CD's" and actually buy the CD. Yes, those things still exist. You probably had them before you discovered "other methods" of getting music. I don't buy a lot of CD's (READ: Never) but some artists are seriously worth supporting. Oh, and Meg & Dia are on Warped Tour this year. That rolls into Toronto on July 10th, along with a stacked setlist of amazing bands. Which reminds me: I should probably get tickets soon time.

An Untitled Rant Upon Self and Then Some
Today I woke up to two cold, hard realities. More so epiphanies, but I digress.
First, I've gotta pick up my pace with my school work. I've pretty much loafted this semester, and having only two classes doesn't help the situation. As of right now, midterms, I'm passing Calculus by 2%. Combine that with the 60-something I'm getting in Physics and my average is below 70%. As in that University acceptance I got will turn into an un-acceptance. Not exactly what I was hoping for. And it's not like I can't do better in school. I'm just way too lazy to bother most of the time.
Right now, I figure that i might as well just try for the next two months. I mean, it's only two months right? For most people, yeah. But I'm a procrastinator, so no, it's not only two months. It's time that could be well wasted upon something far less useful but more enjoyable: Loafting.
The best thing I can do now is just try. And if you see me on MSN up late, do me a favor: Tell me to get some sleep. It'll definitely help.
The other epiphany of the day actually came late last night. Shout out to my boy for informing me of the stupidity I was about to walk into. And this part of the post is for you. No, not you the reader. Once you read this, however, you'll know who I mean. Yes, you. I can't believe you. And I definitely didn't expect this kind of stupidity from you either. You basically tried to play me. You're not even worth my time anymore, and don't try to fix this problem that you made. Yeah, it's partly my fault that I led you on, but it was all in jest. You, on the other hand, decided to play your cards and really make something of this. And you never even told me what was really going on. There are so many things I could call you right now. And I did. But I won't repeat them. I'm not gonna say anything about this anymore. So don't expect to hear from me ever again. Have a good life. Because I guarantee you that I won't be in it.

Actual Content Arriving Soon
I can't even get my thoughts straight right now. Expect a more informative post in a bit.
Today I heard a great piece of what is currently incomplete music. Just a guitar and a really mello feel to this song. And it has completely blown me away. I can't say much, except that it is amazing. And that was how this day ended. Although, it started on a much rougher note. Waking up after making an epic run for KD the evening before can do that to you.
Short post? Yes. But I just had to talk about today.

Kraft Dinner and Other Such Entities of Awesomeness
So today, in a fit of complete randomness, some friends and I decided to go down to the grocery store and pick up some Kraft Dinner. I haven't had KD in years. Completely forgot how awesome that stuff can be. About a half hour later, we're in the kitchen trying to cook up as much KD as possible. You could go anywhere in the house and all you could smell was KD. Seriously, I'm in love with Kraft Dinner now.
On the way back home from that adventure, I had a near-dead phone, so no music. I never realized how much I listen to music because I've always had headphones in my ear playing something. It was almost bizarre. Like being out of place in a very normal situation. And yeah, some people get on with life just fine, but it just felt really weird. Maybe I'm crazy. Iunno. But I just need music sometimes.
I'm gonna go eat some more KD now.

I'm a Nerd: Offline Gmail
Way back in January I heard about something called Offline Gmail. Basically what it does is it allows you to have all your email downloaded onto your computer, attachments and all. When you can't get an Internet connection, it lets you access your Gmail as though you were online. Pretty slick stuff. It's kind of like Outlook or Thunderbird, but, in my opinion, a million times better. At first it was available in the US and UK only. Yesterday I noticed that it was available in my account as well, so I tried it out. I never realized how useful this can be until I tried it. The only problem with having all your email saved on your hard drive? It takes up a lot of space if you use a lot of your email for attachments. Otherwise it's pretty awesome to have.
Yeah, OK, I'm done being a nerd for now.

I Have No Idea How Else to Describe This
Today was one of those days that I haven't had in a really long time. Somewhere between doing absolutely nothing and doing... well, absolutely nothing, I realized this. It's one of those days without the rush that most days have. A slow day, if you will. But it allowed me to notice so much more. The little things like not noticing the fact that you're gonna miss the bus because you're taking your time to enjoy what you're walking through. Any sign of green coming back on the ground and trees pretty much makes me happy now. I guess it's partly because the weather was great and I hate snow so much now. To me it all means that Summer is one day closer.
In the end, it all comes down to my want for Summer to be here already. It's all my excitement for it just slowly building up. Somewhere between Warped Tour, Conference, I don't know what else, and just loafting like beasts at Sean's house I know that this Summer is going to be the best one I've had yet.

I've Been Inspired To Get Back
I used to write stuff a lot a few years ago. Honestly I don't know what made me stop. I guess other things caught my interest as life changed. I've been inspired to write once again, though, thanks to a friend. So here's my first shot at this in a really long time.

It came with the wind
clouds of inspiration,
and poured down a flood
bringing back infatuation.
Alive, this night
a new flame glows.
In its light
an oasis unfolds.
